MISSION AND VISION

Our Mission at PathwayCF

To let people know that they matter to God. To connect the unconnected to Christ, and grow together on the pathway to seeing the destiny God has for them realized. To truly be a comeback place for comeback people.

Basic Beliefs

As a member of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, PathwayCF shares the Declaration of Faith of the broader Foursquare Church.

The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God: true, immutable, steadfast, and unchangeable (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

The Eternal Godhead
We believe that God is triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the Three are coexistent, coeternal, and equal in divine perfection (1 John 5:7).

The Plan of Redemption
We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, took our place, and with His life's blood purchased the pardon for all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Titus 2:14).

Salvation Through Grace
We believe that salvation is wholly through grace; that no human righteousness or merit can contribute to our receiving God's love and favor (Ephesians 2:8).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit empowers believers to exalt Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to be witnesses of God's saving grace; we expect the Spirit's incoming to be after the same manner as that in which He came upon believers in the days of the Early Church (Acts 1: 5, 8; 2:4).

Church Relationship
We believe that it is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with a congregation of believers with whom we can worship God, observe the ordinances of Christ, exhort and support one another, labor for the salvation of others, and work together to advance the Lord's Kingdom (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24).

PathwayCF also subscribes to the historic creeds of the Church, including the Apostle's Creed and Nicene Creed, and to the Statement of Faith of the National Association of Evangelicals (USA).

Our Vision at PathwayCF

We see a vital church connected to Jesus Christ, serving the Father on behalf of the World empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve the world on behalf of the Father and that is recognized for its spiritual relevance to the felt needs of families and individuals within the community of faith and within the secular community of Northridge.

A Church that:

Provides instruction, nurture, and enrichment for personal and spiritual development within a Spirit-filled, ecumenical ethos.

Instills in people the recognition of the authority of Scripture in all areas of life and provides a solid knowledge of the Bible.

Presents a clear Biblical message that changes lives forever and empowers people to reach their Godly potential through the power of His Word.

Pastors people personally, intentionally, and proactively.

Increases awareness and appreciation of the heritage of the Christian community and the Spirit-filled community of faith in particular.

Prepares people for servanhood in the Church and community with sensitivity to the rich ethnic and cultural diversity and varied needs of the world.

Operates in an efficient and effective manner so as to be a good steward of the resources God has entrusted to it.

We see a culturally diverse group of people from every walk of life:

So dependent on the Holy Spirit that nothing will stop them nor stand against them; a people who are unified, praying and full of God's Spirit.

Whose heartfelt praise and worship touches Heaven and changes Earth; worship which influences the praises of people throughout the earth, exalting Christ with powerful songs of faith and hope.

So compassionate that others are drawn from impossible situations into a loving and friendly circle of hope, where answers are found and acceptance is given.

So Kingdom-minded that they will count whatever the cost and pay whatever the price to see revival sweep our city.

That is the church we see, that is the church we want to be.

Values

To let People Know They Matter to God:  Our goal is to connect the unconnected to Christ and grow together on the Pathway to seeing the destiny God has for them realized.

We are a Praying Church:  We are committed to keeping prayer as the central focus of the church. RPM and Maximum RPM will always be the most important, of the Stuff We Do.
  
We are Culturally Relevant:  Teaching, music and every core and catalyst of the church will be culturally relevant. We will not be afraid to change.

We are Authentic:  There are no games to play, no shows to put on, and no secrets to hide. We take a "what you see is what you get" approach to the Stuff We Do. People are encouraged to be "real" in their relationships with each other, with their family and with God.
 
We are a Place Where It is Okay to be not Okay:  You do not have to fake perfection. You do not have to pretend you have it together if you do not. Just come as you are with your past, pain, challenges, and junk. God promises to meet you where you are, but He will not leave you there. He begins a work of transformation in your life. We are about acceptance, compassion, and relevance to everyday life.

Everyone is Called to Serve:  The only distinguishing difference between the paid staff and the rest of us is that the staff has more time to serve. Every person is gifted and true fulfillment comes from exercising that gifting.

We are a Family:  A family that cares for each other, and the ones we do not know yet. We are all on the Pathway and we are in it together.
